It seems that the diamonds formal document from the Forman book: Bravery Courage and Valour is not a original one. Page 164 - 165

The formal presentation document plus the entire packaging for the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds is beyond description! It must be seen to be appreciated!! Thank you Thies for giving us this chance to see such a document.

Thies initially stated no digital copy of the formal awards would be available online (but would be available to prospective buyers for physical inspection). I wonder what changed their mind.

Now, I won't have to buy Foreman book!

The complete set was bought from another dealer duo direct out of the family for also a big ammount of money, then it was handed over to the Thies auction house. The profit was not that high as expected....

Militaria is what it is. I am not surprised. All documents were auctioned off without a fearce bidding fight.

For one of the nices pieces in this hobby a little lame in my own opinion.

Still a great set of documents. For collectors like me who appreciate these formal award documents, definitely great pieces!

Most of the higher end TR awards, which I already have, were either auctioned/sold at reserve prices only or not even at all!

Was this auction a success?

Apologies: I'm a collector and a businessman at the same time so many times passion and rationality collide.
