I dont like it.
Even though certain allowances have to be made with mini's, as the details get a little distorted, they still follow the general design of the full size counter parts. If you look at all the cross minis on the other thread, they all have the same style of numerals as the originals, tall and slender. The numbers on this arent even remotely correct.
The overall texture and finishing on this is not what I would expect from a KC mini. It looks crude, and not surprisingly, very similiar to the crude full size fakes coming out of Poland.
The ribbon looks like it was made yesterday. I would bet this would glow big time under a black light.
I would never add this to my collection.
Accidentally offending people on the internet since 1997

Hi,
I tend to agree with you, especially about the ribbon and the button - very pristine.
It just doesn't look right.
However, it must be said that the standards of the mini's are not so high. On the other side, those were made by the same manufacturers which did put out the big ones in high quality.
The center of the beading is irregular, the numerals are "off". I would be very carefull. This is also the first "buttoned" KC I have seen where the hanger is made of single wire and not in one piece indicating the wire-style by groves (sometimes even plain, refer to Geissler, page 198 as an example what I mean with my bad english).
I don't think I would buy it, especially not without examining it personally in depth.
regards,
Dietrich

I have seen another miniature Ritterkreuz like this in recent months. Various makers produced miniatures, of course, so they are bound to have different characteristics. But here, for general interest, is a buttonhole miniature RK mit EL by the firm of Godet. It looks quite crude in the photographs but it is very small in real life and the detail and quality, when you hold it in your hand, are actually very impressive.
As you can see, details such as the suspension loops mirror the fullsize awards.

Ritterkreuzträger would also have worn stickpins in civilian dress, rather like this one. Well...there weren't too many qualified to wear these awards but this is a good example of another form of RK miniature. It belongs to the same lucky man who owns the Godet miniature above.Attached Files

To be honest, I cannot see where the date in the RK buttonhole mini shown by Prosper varies from the numerals of the RK mini shown by Peter. It also seems "inaccurate" if we would judge these minis by the dates. But (Philippe´s I guess) RK mini is very believable in general.
