EKI Brass Core

Hi guys,
is it correct that those EKs with brass core were awarded to members of the Kriegsmarine?
Any ideas on the maker on this one?

No it´s not true that Kriegsmarine got brass core EKs.
But it would be good against the salt and rust

Maybe some Kriegsmarine soldiers privatly bought EK with brass core to prevent that they rust when they was on the sea.

Early S&L, IMO.

Brass and zinc cores were typically early-war cores. There were even early-war brass-plated iron cores. And, even nickel-plated iron cores.
