I believe this is the correct place to make this post.
These Iron Cross spanges were purchased years ago as part of a large lot. They were found in a trunk of “spare parts” and I’ve never been sure if they were real or not, or if real, whether they were used to hump an item and make it more desirable. I should also note that inside the same trunk were two rare SS totenkopf that a collector in The Netherlands paid quite a bit for, so that only added to my curiosity of what was in the trunk.
Each of the three larger ones measure just a hair over 15mm x 15mm and are all marked L/16 (Steinhauer & Luck), and the small one measures 15.2mm across by 10.2mm high and is unmarked. As you can see, none of them have ever had any method of attaching to a ribbon, etc.- no prongs, no screwback, no pins. My questions are whether they are real and what are they worth?
