    Cased 1939 EK1 #6

Hello Gentleman. I hope all had a wonderful Christmas and was able to spend quality time with Family and Friends. I recently purchased this cased EK1 from the eStand, and would like to hear your professional opinions on it. Authenticity, is the case appropriate for this EK1, etc. There is a good size gap at the front, are these cases normally this sloppily made? In hand, it's quite apparent someone drew a swastika and 1939 inside the lid on the silk. When you close the lid on the EK1 the lines/shape does not match. When I first saw it in the pictures the seller posted, it appeared to be paint transfer? I don't know... would like your thoughts on that as well. Thank you.

              A gorgeous ek1, great condition.
This type of case is mostly associated with bh mayer.
The curving could be a natural proces of the materials.
On the imperial early leather cases it's very common.

Nice Zimmermann. The cross is authentic. These Zimmermanns generally came in different cases (with black insert) but who knows what really went with what 70 years ago? The case is authentic and could have been original to the cross. Too bad someone drew in it but that could be wartime too. Who can say? Overall the condition of the cross is very good and everything is 100% original.
                Best regards,
                Streptile
