The whole controversy could have been avoided if the initial seller would have had a look in to a good book and realize that it is an extremely rare Type 1 by Juncker. I can understand that the usual “experts” have no idea what they are looking at, but that could have been avoided!.

Haha too true, I actually bought it on the strength of your book. Its was actually for sale as "German Cross in gold made by Juncker, Berlin. Typical construction with five rivets. The back-plate made from real silver. Unmarked" I looked at the wreath and thought "where have I seen that before" Voila now its mine lol

Don't worry about the criticism. I posted a fantastic Freidlander PLM that was slammed by a few members here. Some people cannot be pleased.
Tif I remember correctly, then the damage to the center enemal is ofte due to the center rivit on the back of the DK.

That has been suggested and is probably the best explanation.

                      Hi,

I don't think scrashed enamel on Juncker's crosses is for the central rivet, maybe enamel too thin and sensible on center point.

I don't think the big star is real silver, it has a textbook reverse side 1 st type. I like the cross even if has 3 little points on wreath not clear....

maybe enamel remade over the original enamel .......
