I believe this to be a Type 1 brass center W&L EK I, but wanted to check with you guys who know these far more than myself. Thank you for the assistance.

Well, I’ll respond to this W&L. I remember Douglas showing me some time ago an early W&L-framed cross. It’s inner beading at 2:00 closest to the swasi was different from anything I’d ever seen before. He suggested that it was their first frame type. Perhaps he would like to verify this with an image. As far as the non-magnetic core goes I cannot comment.

..... there are 2 W&L frame matrixes - as the first one being replaced very quickly and is difficult to find - in either of its 2 configurations .
The one presented here is from the common 2nd frame matrix with probably the less common brass core .
The 1st frame is not found with this finish . If you look closely JR's cross has the 'sliver flaw' on the left arm which does not exist on the 1st frame .
