German Cross in Case - are they real?

I would sincerely appreciate any opinions as to the authenticity of this German Cross in Gold with Case. Are they real? Thanks, John

From the pictures imo looks like a good Zimmerman light version to me
        Operation Cobra Normandy 44

Based on these pictures, both are fine originals . There maybe a possibilty the inside lid of tge case was replaced.

Not only that. Maybe the camera flash, but seems repainted in its reverse? Rivets seems to me not to be tipical from this maker. Anyway I need more and better pictures without flash to make an opinion.

I would say that this cross have been heavily cleaned

                        Hi,

in my opinion this is a nice original German Cross in Gold, lightweigth Version,
                        Maker 20, Zimmermann, Pforzheim.
It's in unworn condition (as so many of this maker) and has it's original
                        bright finish.
IMO it has not been heavely cleaned
Can't judge the case from these pics.

Hello Andy, what makes you say this cross has been heavily cleaned? I dont see that at all but maybe I am missing something.

I thought that it was so very clean but the cross is in very good condition so we can call it mint

he is saying it is cleaned I think because you can not tell if the gilt is on the wreath or if it has been cleaned down or buffed to where it looks more of a brass matte brass color, however if it was cleaned they did not touch the starburst which has the original finish in my opinion, you need a better shot of the wreath to say for sure if the finish is there
