    EK11 set?

I picked this up at a local militaria fair last weekend, for half the price I would have had to pay to a dealer.

When I got home and checked the EK it was stamped, but I can't exactly make the number out. It looks like 55, which would be great.

Can anyone tell from the EK whether its a 55?

    Thanks,

    Allan

tip of today: dont use a flash when photographing the core, it makes it look much worse than it really is.

Hmmm, I would say those 2 crosses don't match, looking at the inner corners.Allan's is waaay rounder.

YEs, and the swaz and the dates also do not match

Sorry to say but the first cross in question is an Eastern European Fake that have been around for a few years now. Notice the very unproportional rounding, the up and down disposition of the numbers, the poor swaz, rust around the frame, etc.... Sorry

                        Allan,

Your packet is fine (as you would know). That cross is bad. I no longer have them, but I have owned a couple of 55's, and from memory, they looked nothing like that one. I don't like the beading (too rounded off on the inside), and I also don't like the date.

                          Your right of course.

I didn't like the ribbon loop, the numerals, especially the '1' in the 1939, and the seams holding the frame together. BUT, you live and learn!!!

At least the packet is OK as you say Jim!!

                          Thanks for your comments.
