I recently came across this RK which I find quite strange. First of all one quickly recognizes that it pretends to be a Klein&Quenzer because of its frame but the core is not Klein&Quenzer at all. Not speaking of the garbage L12 marking. It has no silver markings and all parts seem brass or Buntmetall.
But the cross does have something I find interesting. The frame is unmarked and rather brass than silver but it is indeed struck by a K&Q tool. I do not think it is cast although the ribs are not as detailed as one would expect from a genuine K&Q cross.
The core is struck with high details and rattles a bit within the frame-parts. The swastica fits perfectly in the inner corners of the frame. The numerals are nothing compared to any genuine variant of the knights cross but it is very similar to the "Z" Ek2 1939.
I know that this kind of marking is known on postwar Steinhauer-reproductions.
