    Hello,

Can I have your opinions on this cloth DKIG.

    Thanks,

    Gus

IMO a fake, the backside looks better than the frontside. The gold wreath is often to find on the new cloth DK fake generation.

      Gus,

I have to agree with Grueni.

A repro. Twists of the red cord are going in the wrong direction, wreath lacks the crispness of detail on the leaves and the bands, white fabric that makes up the disk is the wrong material, points of the starburst base plate are sort of squashed together, and that stamp on the back - never seen it before (not that I profess to have seen crosses by all makers, but that one looks flaky).

      Here's a nice one for comparison: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ght=cloth+dkig

It was good seeing you and the Frau at MAX and I'll be in touch.

      Regards!

      Bob

        Thanks for the info gents.

Bob, great to see you as well. I ran across this and a few other items on my travels home. I thought I would post them for review. This forum is a life saver for collectors.

        Regards,

        Gus

          Reproduction for sure.

This one does not conform to originals in several aspects.

            Calvin,

Thanks for the input. Problem with traveling is I don't carry my reference books with me so it is easier to post here to get a solid answer quick.

            Thanks again,

            Gus

Although I don't own a cloth version instinct tells me this is not right.
