    Frame part for Knights cross?

Hello everyone, i have come into possession of what i believe to be half of the frame to a knights cross of the iron cross. The frame is larger than that of a 1939 iron cross 1st or 2nd class. I do not have either readily available for comparison as i have my military junk temporarily stored. I do have a 2nd class 1914 iron cross for size comparison in the mean time. I believe this item may have been a dug up relic item. Any opinions and comments are greatly appreciated and welcomed. Thank you!!!

It's not ground dug unless someone buried it in the last 20 years. It's the so called dipping ring fake.

So if an item was dug up over 20 years ago what would it be considered if it was dug up? My terminology appears to be off
And that's a shame, i see the examples that fall under that type of fake and i see the resemblence. Cant complain too much though, i only paid about $24, it would make a cool display item for my iron cross case. I know less about Rks than ek1s and ek2s but i figured it was worth taking a "right now" bid on what appeared to be a real frame for an RK!!
