    EK1 Otto Schickle Pforzheim

Here is my L15 marked ,Otto Schickle of Pforzheim, EK1 I have had for many years.

In good, worn condition overall. Iron core shows slight paint loss & crazing in a few areas.

What stories these unknown recipient medals must tell?

    Thanks.

I'm sorry to say, but your EK I is a well known fake, so called "Floch fake".

Seriously!!!! Blimey, always thought it was a good one.

When were they made? Anyway, I know where I brought it & I'll take it back to them.

        Thanks for the info though.

        Cheers

Balls, always thought it good due to detail & construction.

I shall take it back to the seller either way, been years though.

              Cheers

These Flochs started appearing mid to late 80s.

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!

My understanding from talking to Johannes Floch is that it was in the late 1960s. He told me that bought them from Austria and sold them in the US as repros.

Thanks so much for a good image of a real Otto Schickle EK1.

All is good my end. The seller I had brought it from has taken it back & refunded me.
He too was totally taken by the overall quality of the Floch copy.

                          Cheers

Can I just add this, in regard to Floch fakes & the beading overlapping near cross centre & tips. I have been looking at other EK1 & EK2, & some of their beading
                            overlaps too.

Here are some examples of genuine EK2's with overlapping beading:
                            http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=922866

Is it fair to say some makers had overlapping beading on some centres & tips?

So it is not a fake if the beading does criss cross on some makers examples of EK1 & EK2, as photographic examples of genuine crosses show this?

                            Thanks
