    Need opinions kvk 1 w/s

Okay fellas , I need the thumbs up or down on this kvk1 . Personally I reckon its a dud as nothing on the EK DNA webpage matches it 100% .

        Hi Victor

To me, and perhaps to you also, this cross doesn't look good for a number of reasons.

I can't place it exactly but the oakleaves around the swastika look odd.

The hinge resembles a cross between Steinhauer/Luck and Carl Poellath

I don't recognise the style of pin. The closest I could think of would be an L/11 Deumer but it is easy to see the differences between the two.

And the hook looks very thick.

I certainly would give this one wide berth. Those with more knowledge than I shall be along soon.

        Jamie

Hi Jamie , that's exactly the same conclusion I drew when I compared this example on those on the EK DNA webpage . This piece together with its case (which is original ) is currently available for sale at a local antique shop for a very reasonable price , but it looks as if its going to stay there . Thanks Vic

Apparently not all badges and medals shown on various data bases and sites are original.
Best invest in a microscope and see firstly how it was made and then go from there.
Just another usefull tool in your toolbox.
Its a good one at that.
Just look at Mr Jo Rivetts research.
