Hi everyone I'm a 21 year old from the UK, relatively new to this hobby and very interested in the German ww2 militaria, Ive started off my collection by searching though local antique shops, I've had a bit of trouble with my collection so far after buying fake SS collar tabs which I managed to luckily take back and get my money back. In the end I managed to start of my collection with a nice duemer Prague castle pin (L/11). As it was my birthday yesterday my parents took me out to the shops to try and find some more German militaria, I found a store with a whole cabinet of German based militaria a supposed specialist dealer owned it but he wasn't it to talk to at the time.
However this EK 2nd class took my fancy with the (27) makers mark on the ribbon ring, I tried to take what I've read and learnt about detecting fake EK's so far when examining it in the shop, the centre is magnetic and there is a visible seam to the pieces with some movement from them too, unfortunately the black on one side looks like it's been worn down and scratched off, but any confirmations that this is real? Would be greatly appreciated!
