My search of old postings did not help me identify this spange. I believe it to be an original piece but would like affirmation. I am concerned about the poorly defined eagle's head so that is why I now have doubts. Any help appreciated. Thank you.

I don't know the maker but it certainly looks authentic to me. Is it possible the detail on the eagle's head is simple hard to discern due to the wear/patina of the finish in that area?

Thanks Mike. Here's my attempt at a close up of the head to show it is still largely frosted. I am thinking that the detail was just never there. But if the spange is original, the lack of detail is no big deal to me. Thanks again.Comment
