RK Ribbon - Period or Not? Opinions Please!

It would be useful to know the overall width of your ribbon, and to get a clearer view of the border, perhaps unfolded and against a white background.

Thanks for the rapid reply. The width is 46-47mm.

I would hazard an opinion of post-war. It is a little loose on the weave - take the white stripe for example, only 18 stitches in its width whereas wartime would generally have 25 giving a much tighter weave. Also, wartime ribbons were 45-46mm in overall width.

That is not an original RK ribbon in my opinion. Loose weave in the white areas as Harry say and a weird twist of the black and red strands/cords.

Compared to some origianl ribbons posted in other threads I think the weave of the white is to "open" .
If I'm correct this was the giveaway for postwar.
