The second one is a Deumer 2 pin 'Prinzen' Spange. I can't really comment on the first one but it's ugly.

With these pictures I have doubts about the first one being an S&L because of the head and cutouts on the shoulder, it could be a late one produced with poor dies. I will post my S&L for you to compare against. If you could lift the ribbon a little and see if it is marked this would help. Jim

Not sure on the first one. It's just so rounded in the head.

Beautiful Deumer prinzen, but the first one is also not one I would like to own..
            Kind regards,

Thanks all, very much appreciate the opinions.

I did have a peak under the ribbon and there is no maker mark, in fact, it has small circular pits on it. I expect that is a clincher, and with the die fault on the wings and general appearance, correctly described by Ian (ugly), I think I'd be consigning it to the box of fakes. I should add, the prongs are also folded over, much like a hairpin slider on a British badge, if that makes sense.

              Many thanks, Tim

PS: I will be offering the Prinzen on the e-stand once I work out a fair price, so thanks for confirming it's OK

I traded my spare one to a dealer for £110 and he had it for sale for £160 so realistically somewhere between those prices.

                Cheers, Ian.
