help needed: EK 1st class for review

    Good morning,

sorry to bug you with a question the experts are surely sick of: is this EK1 genuine or fake? Absolutely not my area but it ended somehow in my hands together with some other things a few years ago. Now I'm clearing a few things which are of little interest.
My intention is to put it on e-stand if ok'ed by you guys.

Size more or less exactly 43 x 43 mm. Weight about 25 grms if I can trust the wifes kitchen scale.

Thanks in advance - I'm usually not seeking help with blant questions like this one.

    Rgds

Thx Doug & Franki for your input.

Can I take it then into the "fake" box ...? Any more opinions on it, please?

What irritates me is that parts of it seem to be made from silver (or silver gilted?) due to the patina? Any fakes known with silver gilted frame? What can the needle, its base and hook tell you guys?

            Rgds

              Daniel,
Try taking an angled shot from the side to show if there are any seams where the two pieces of the frame were fit together to hold the iron core. If there is no seam, then it is a one piece. Though there are one piece crosses that are original to the period, this is probably not one of them and the pin does not look like what most original ones would look like. There should also be someone along with more expertise than I that can point out whether the core and frame are original, etc.

                Sadly, yes.

Well, there you go! Throw it in the box and be done with it.
