    333 observations

Okay bear with me if I am covering old ground but haven't found any similiar observations:

Got a 333 EK2 the other day and been looking it over and notice some obvious characteristics - that is if it is consistent with other 333's

    First the basic cross

    1. First thing I notice different is the size of the ribbon ring is about a third smaller than other EK rings.

    2. If you look at the 1939 it isn't very well defined and not completely engraved to the surface of the core

      Observation Nr 3.

The 1813 on the Reverse appears to have been carved out from a dull router bit with gouging along the bottom.

The three o'clock arm has distinct die cracks

I'm sure there are more to observe, this brings me to a request that anybody who has a 333 or an unmarked one do a comparision to see if these points are consistent with all 333's perhaps the 666', 999's have these characteristics in common.

Good observations. It looks like the edges and corners of the frame are very sharp. Do you get that feel when you hold it ?

            Cheers and thanks for sharing.

I have put together this one from photos i have from another 333. The dieflaw is there, but i cant see the date error you have on your cross.

              Cheers.

Here is a compare of the dieflaw between the two crosses.

                Cheers.

Thanks Peter, so two for two on the frame, the core is puzzling perhaps it's easier to make cores, or mine may be an earlier venture.

                  Lets see some more!

Please don't laugh to much. But just to confirm, 333 is a fake, correct?

As an old Chief once told me "The only stupid question is the one not asked."

Yes 333,666,999 are fakes possibly from the same maker which is why I've done this to ferret them out for comparison.

                          Thanks Charlie & Peter

I was pretty sure about it, just wanted to cast it in stone.

                            Charlie,

Can you post a closeup of the maker mark? Thanks.
