    Hallo Walther,

For me, a strange catch plate! It looks like a Zimmermann "20" but it is't. So, I would pass.

    Greetz,

Postwar S&L. Not even close to a Zimmermann.

...what you mean with post war

        October 1945 or Dezember 2016 ?

I think one of the earliest pieces from SuL made after Mai 1945...

        Is this correct?

        Thanks for your opinions gents.

        BR Walther

Everything that was made after 8 May 1945 is postwar. Or, in other words, everything that is made without any specific order coming from any authorized office of the Third Reich to produce and deliver such an item to the requesting office with the specific background to distribute it to the fighting troops or other institutions of the Third Reich, is a fake!

So, this S&L German Cross is made after the war and is a fake, IMHO.

The German Cross in the Hermann Historica auction is not a fake IMHO since it is marked "4" and is based most likely on the order S&L received in July 1944 to produce the German Cross.

Where are the difference between the marked 4 ones and the shown without the 4

            ...only the 4 ?

Yes, only the "4". And that is a very significant difference.

Nice postwar S&L cross. I like it.

It is a 57er era cross by S&L that has had a swaz installed rather than the 57er redesigned cross centre piece. A nice postwar example as Alex says, but not what you're looking for if you want wartime.
