War merit cross-screwback opinions

hi
I have just aquired this screwback cross which is marked L/18. the only reference material I have at present (getting more asap) states that the screwback versions only known maker is L/58? The book I refer to is called "World War 2 German medals" by C Ailsby. I purchased this cross as original and am therefore a little bit concerned. Please let me have your advises.

Andy Did you do a search before hand? I found some interesting articles and from what I can see it doesnt look too good. Wait for some more opinions first thoughs as I'm still in training

Thanks for the reply.
I did do a search and found the following:

This led me to think the cross was OK. I then became concerned when I got this book that stated the maker of such pieces was L/58.

O I see now I thought it was marked l58, In another thread someone said that the top post on a seperate bit of metal was incorrect. The metal backing plate has a rather short ridge compared to the other backs I have seen though. Sorry about the confusion Andy, i'm learning too!!

HI the cross looks good to me,normal late war zinc with no finish.

Dear Andy,

That L/18 srew back is absolutely fine. To me, at least original L/13, L/18, L/52, L/53 and L/58 screw back KVK1X are known.
