    04. Opinion knights cross , lazy 2, Juncker

    Hello,

here are some pictures of a knights cross (lazy 2, Juncker) with ribbon in the original case.

The owner was awarded in April 1945 but he had to remove the swastika as POW in France. He did it with the help of the camp dentist. So he was able to wear ist during hi interment.

    Please your opinion about it.

    Best regards

very nice grouping! I like it a lot even though the RK is damaged. What i also like is the combination of his awards, as the man took part in many war theatres. I guess he was wounded in Afrika and therefore escaped an earlier captivity? What unit did he belong to?

greetings and congratulations on that nice grouping,
                    Stefan

He was able to walk around wearing his de-nazified KC while in internment? That sounds odd?

I don't find that unusual. In fact, here are two photos taken of German POWs at Camp Shelby, Mississippi in the US.

It is a wonderful grouping and not a problem that the RK is denazified. It is part of the owner's history. You are fortunate to have the identification of the awardee. Anyone, including myself, would ve happy to have this group.

I have a denazified RK group that I am very pleased to own. The PO with brilliants had the swas carefully removed and the RK had the swas removed, also.

Duct tape can't fix stupid, but it can muffle the sound.

First time I've heard of POWs in the camp being forced to de-Nazify their stuff...also, why weren't ALL the pieces denazified then?

                              Hello Hauptmann01,

I have a picture of the Knights cross bearer from 1946. You cann see that all badges and awards were denazified.

His uniform (he had another one at home) his EK II and the medalbar were the only thinks with swastika at his home after the war.

                              Here are some pictures.
