I can always find a kid who needs some extra credit to set up a bogus ebay account and bid 20 grand. . . . . that would be easier would it not?

      Nahhh,

He'd just relist it until he DOES get some sucker to buy it. All it takes is a push of a button for him.

I still say, that if he'd sell this as HQ repro, and not try to Screw everyone, he might get more business. As it stands the forum is on to him and others like him.

Honesty is ALWAYS the best policy

        My messege/email to the seller:
Your cross is a reproduction. Please read Gordon Williamsons book on the Iron Cross. Unless you change your sale to clearly say so, i have no other option but report you to Ebay. Please read the following rules: http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/...sclaimers.html

This is the replyes from the seller:
I know who you are Peter Wiking. You are responsible for contacting all the bidders of my last auction, and giving them false information. I have the evidence still on my computor. I did not turn you in, but will if you harrass me or any of my bidders in the future.

Peter, I have saved all the evidence I need from the WH/A, e-bay, and mail sites and suggest that you and Brien quit slandering and plotting to commit offenses against me. I had nothing to do with removing anyones auctions! Unlike yourselves! If anything happens to my auction or you slander me, or you contact another one of my bidders I will be forced to turn all my documentation and information regarding this matter over to e-bay.

        Cheers.
        Peter

          Well Well Well

Peter after reading this it pissed me off and I too sent a email to E-bay to let them know about the fraud taking place by this person with this item. I think that we should ALL be sending E-bay a message (every last one of us, the more the better) and let them try to ignore that or try to pick on one person then. In my opinion E-bay is at fault more so than the seller for letting this take place in the first place. I wonder if it would be usefull to take out an add on E-bay with a picture of the KC in question with a reserve no one can touch stating it is a fraud just to protect the innocent people out there???

            Ewwwwwwwwwww..................

He's gonna tell. I'm so scared. EBAY!!! Please, don't tell!!!

What an idiot. That would be the best thing he could do for us. Then we don't have to contact them. (And he know's it too.)

Time to send him another note!!

              frenchy's cross

For those of us who are new to this, could someone tell me what is wrong specifically with "frenchy's" kc on ebay? By the way he revised his auction and is now claiming it is a high qual repro.

OK, but will he retract his own bids???

This cross has many problems. The most obvious is the markings. Godet as far as I know, never stamped the frame.

Here is a link to an old sale from the same seller: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...e=STRK:MEWA:IT

WWII German Knights Cross of the Iron Cross. The Cross is made of three piece construction with the frame and loop made of Sterling Silver and a magnetic iron core which retains all of it's original black finish. The frame is marked "800" below the eye on the back and the ribbon loop is also marked "800" I believe this Cross was made by C.E. Junker of Berlin due to it's characteristics. The approximate dimensions of the Cross are: Height 48.5mm, Width 48.5mm, Thickness 5mm and Weight 34.85 grams. The Cross has a crescent shaped wear mark where it swung back and forth across a tunic button and is a little tarnished but otherwise is in excellent condition. A very nice Cross which would make a great addition to any WWII collection. Good Luck!
                    Item Number:2287730796
                    Sold:US $1,050.01

                    Cheers.

hello and thanks. I am going out on a limb here and assume that you are saying that all crosses that "frenchy" sells are repros. Bt the way I bought a book by Mr. Williamson but it was the wrong one. ( The Iron cross a history) But I will get any other book available on this topic.

Frenchy has written to me a few times trying to sell me his cross. I have quite a bit of correspondence from him.

The two (2) crosses above are reproductions without doubt. They are not produced by Godet, Juncker or any other WW2 producer before 8 Mai 1945.

                          Cheers.

jim, peter, brien... guys... frenchy is a plague. BUT, here is this other guy that we have a thread on and i cannot find it he was selling granpa's rk previously for $10,000. a lot of us asked for pics and more info... but i never heard back from him. now, he has lowered it to a more reasonable $7500... for what looks like a '57 rk.

Why bother about the cross if the seller cant provide better photos ?

                                Cheers.
