Its not your standard issue case for a RK thats 100%, having said that some area of construction i kind of like, looks period to me. What shows its from that period is that the box looks like its from wood which is a good thing, maybe when the RK holder had his RK he lost the case and went to a jeweler and had a case made up, this is just a long shot but thats the only thing i can think of. Before you rule it out, can you lift out the base?
I have seen that closing system on imperial ek2 cases.
Also the imprint of the cross on the upper lid looks ek2 size.
It's design is similar to a rk case, but for me it's an imperial ek2 case.
