    RK Cases found on ebay!

Despite its bad press, some gems are still to be found on 'evilbay'! I picked up these pre-'45 RK cases in the last 4 weeks. One came with a full 73cm original RK ribbon, the other with a RK ribbon wearing device.........

the crosses lost to history.............but have left their mark on the well cushioned lid lining. Now all I need is a couple of crosses!

              Peter,
They were a reasonably good bargain, but considering these are now rarer than the crosses, it was a steal!

Harry the on on the left looks ok, but the one on the right I'm not to sure about.

That is to say, at the end of the day, you know more about these than I, this is just an observation and would like to learn more.

Would it be possible to see views of the catches please ?

Or indeed have you black lighted or taken these apart at all ?

I'm sure they are both fine, I'm learning on these....and need all the help I can get.

If you don't want to deliberate them on here, would you e mail some pic's please ?

                  Hi Marcus,

Nothing wrong with either of these cases, both are as they should be, no UV positive etc. Here are some additional pics. of the case pictured on the right above.........

                          Marcus,

I am at the learning stages myself, but hopefully with as much exposure as poss to these cases, we will get familiar with all the little variations in design of these, and there are lots!.......

                              Great find Harry!

The square cornered double hinged are supposed to be earlier? Correct? I have one of those which has the "KB" and the digits under the cardboard. Harry, could you take a look under the velvet on these? Thanks! The case on the right looks a little thick on the broad view, but on the close-up, look at the quality of the pressed paper. It looks good.

Great pick up and thanks for posting. These things are going for $2000 for a case without the ribbon now, so I am sure you got an exceptional deal here. Good find.
