Named EKI

Hello, Ive never seen a named EKI especially this professionally done. I dont know if it is originally done during the war or after. The best way would be to see if this person actually served in the unit. The cross looks to be OK but any other opinions on it or the Engraving? Could I find out anything on the potential owner?

That engraving looks postwar mad to me.
Those crosses that I have seen that are believable are often more handmade, thats just my opinion.

Thats a for me too, I love it how its always either an SS or some elite soldiers engraving and not from an everyday Flak Arty soldier or Heer Pioneer for example lol

British auctions

These have been cropping up in British Auction houses recently.Both cross and engraving are wrong.

These first show up about 10 years ago and they are both modern fakes the engraving and the cross . If you do a search you will find more of them

I agree with AndyC... Here's my EK1 with "Kreta" (or Crete in English) scratched into the back plate
