KC loop: How do you tell

How can one determine if a loop from a knights cross is truely a pre-1945 piece. I have one that is supposed to be a pre 1945 knights cross loop (800 marked). I finally got around to taking some photos

    Best regards,
    Terrence

Terrence, much like anything else if you become familiar with them it's quite easy!

Each 'maker' had particular fingerprints to include height, width, weight, finish and 'type' of stamp/font used. In some instances one can almost 'date' the loop because of changes in manufacturing technique.
    Regards,

Makes sense, I will do these measurements before I post pictures. Thanks Dave

        Size 8mm x 19mm (done with a ruler)
Weight will have to wait until next week.

            Hi Dave,

Any speculation on your part at this point?
            Best regards,
            Terrence
