    German Cross

I need opinions on this German Cross. Is it an original that is in need of a back plate, or a copy that is in the same condition? I only have two picks and will try to attach. Any help will be appriciated.

how odd. the scrole on the wreath runs well , numbers look ok by what i can see of them. the symble looks extremly mint compared to the rest of the piece. how the back plate and pin got lost is a puzzzel. the rivits still in place and not pulled about too much. could it be a hybred type of dk put together with what they had at the time? be interesting to see what the experts say

Thanks Chris, anyone else have any opinion? I know there are lots more German Cross collectors out there. If it is genuine what would be the chance of finding a back plate with hing and pin? Also what is the value of this example?
          Thanks,
