    DKIS "dotted" Zimmerman

Has anyone ever seen a "dotted" Zimmerman DKIS? I am looking at one, matches the example in Dietrich's book. Has the same unique "20" stamp where the top of both numerals was cutoff. The pin, hinge, rivets and catch certainly would pass for Zimmerman construction in my mind. It does not have the typical Zimmerman 11 o'clock die flaw. I will post pictures shortly.......along with a few other goodies in this group

As promised. Personally, I really like it. It is a quality built piece. The question..is it war time or post war made?

The "dotted" DK's are now believed to be genuine.

Like I said, the construction is spot on compared to my Zimmerman DKiG and the other one in this group which I will post next on a new thread.

Thanks guys for the comments. So the consensus as Leroy points out is that these dotted crosses are accepted Zimmerman war time pieces?

It is hard to discuss the facts away.

Dietrich....I am not sure I understand your comment. Would you be so kind as to clarify?

                      Thanks,

There are a lot of hard facts that prove beyond doubt that the Dotted Date cross is pre 1945.

TP Alexander.....attached is a picture of the date. It was the best I could do, but you can see the dots pretty clearly in the date.

Indeed, "dotties" are accepted and are considered as originals now.
