Cloth DK - I think a decent fake.

A friend of mine buys and sells medals, guns and general military items. When something nice comes in he calls me and sends the item on approval. This piece came from him and my instinct says FAKE but it has many traits that I like. The more I look at postings the worse it gets in my head. I have not changed my mind but I wanted to hear from some of you. The wreath is cast in my opinion and that is why I do not like this one.

I don't think it's a fake. Yes, the wreath looks a little rough but that could have happened during the gilding process. All the other features are ok. IMHO, it's a good one.

Dietrich has at least 2 DKIGs in cloth, I'd go with his opinion

Who knows, maybe some Frau bumped the sewing machine during an air raid

I think it looks alright. I've got a cloth DKiG and it exhibits similar charachteristics, though it is not rough on the wreath as this one. Like was mentioned, maybe that was in the gilding process. I'd like to know more about that process too......
