    Ugly Duckling with Packet

    Hi

I know there has been a small debate over the years of the unknown maker 75.

This set came out of a German estate this morning with the recipients other pocketed awards.

    Best,
    D

Was there still a debate about the maker?

Not much of a debate actually as there is pretty much nothing known who "75" even could be
Anyway the packet belongs to maker 138, so the packet and cross must be separate as no manufacturer could have two PKZ numbers.

Some older threads debate the issue, this set came together with 2 other wernstein KVKs and Ost from the same recipient, just saying...I had a similar find with a round 3 and packet... Just sayin,,, and this was all direct from the family .

sure, but I have seen even fake items come from a family, not always a too reliable source. With the PKZ system, the 138 packet with a 75 marked cross is impossible to be an original set as one maker just could not have two different PKZ numbers.

However it is possible 138 distributed the 75 with packets, but I am not personally too keen of this idea.

Yes of course, and the others 75s that turned up in the same packet, all a coincidence. Naturally. Anyways, putting it up here as reference, back to my evening beers. Cheers.

I have seen 75's both marked and unmarked in Mauer packets before. Many mint, not new information for me. Currently I know one set being auctioned at Ratisbons.

But my point is a fact; those crosses are marked 75, if marked, so they can't be Mauer products as Mauer marked their crosses 138.
Two PKZ numbers for one maker is impossible and against all rules.

But I do think it is possible that Mauer supplied packets to manufacturer "75", Mauer would not be the only one doing this, providing other manufacturers packets.
