Didn't the Germans normally date things with D/M/Y ??
This appears to be M/D/Y like we do it in the US??
Anthony, I think the cross is good. But I am suspicious of the markings on the back. You will probably want to get some other opinions.
Maybe have George, Peter, or Mikael take another look.

In my opinion this is a genuine K&Q but the engraving is fantasy. There is no way that the reverse of this cross would show this kind of decay while the front is in such nice condition. If this were a genuine SS inscribed cross it would be very valuable. D/M/Y is fine as a date configuration but there is no way that I would believe this engraving was period.

It is clear as daylight the inscribtion is not a contemporary German work.
Never in the life would a German place the month in front of the day.
Also the slogan "Meine Ehre heißt Treue" is me a wee bit to suspect.
Reverse looks good to me, exept the artificial ageing.
Obverse was a straight shot of help.
