Hey guys, could use some help on this. I don't have a lot of experience with them. Any hope for it? Quality doesn't seem that great.
    thanks!

        spange

It looks like a Mayer, but I have never seen the pin setup before on their spange. Also, it looks soft like it is made from lead, the ribbon does not belong as it is for a War Merit cross. I would pass on this spange. Jim

Yeah, know its on a war merit ribbon. I didn't pay anything for the spange, i just bought the cross that its on in a larger collection. Its non ferrous, aluminum possibly. Not soft led..wont bend using your hands.

I wouldnt touch what I call an "asymmetrical wing EK II spange" if it was given to me. Bought one in the 70's that looked OK to me then marked "L 4" which I found out here doesnt even exist : LDO # start at L/10!!! Also found with a variety of other markings and hardware (clips) set ups...

Maybe I'm over reacting because some knowledgeable people like these but like the old french-canadian saying goes "chat ébouillanté craint l'eau froide" (loosely translates as "Scalded cat fears cold water")

                Take care Dante!

I appreciate the input, im just trying to get an idea of what to do with it. If its real, it would be a pitty to sell it as a repro or toss it in the trash.

All of my repros were picked up a long time ago (up to 40 years ago) and only exposed recently after joining WAF so no chance in hell of a refund and I kept them as a reminder niot to make the same mistake. Not that I am sore because I think they were all sold to me in good faith as witnessed by the vast majority of the good stuff I have that came from the same sources.

From what I have read here I suspect other members also keep the questionable/repro stuff they cant get a refund for too but in a separate "junk" box". Here are mine (so far) I'm sure one of them will look familiar to you

                    Take care

FYI, I just posted it here http://www.warrelics.eu/forum/orders...review-655128/ and it got thumbs up all around as an unmarked L/59

                      Pretty sweet!

Just received an email from a friend who sent me a pictures of the spange, price list from the maker, and a box stamped L/59. You learn something everyday and now I have to find one. Sorry about my earlier comments. Jim
