The cross is a original cross that has been heavily cleaned.

The case looks to be OK, but I haven't seen this type with red inlet, only seen this type with purple inlet. Someone else can give more opinions on the case in the correct forum for these 1914's, which is the imperial forum.

its indeed heavily cleaned. unfortunate
the inlet looks purple from my point of view.
maybe the picture is not 100% clear..

The sun has probably faded away the color that it looks quite red in the pics. Anyway good that you confirmed it is actually purple and not red, as it's you who have it in hand.
