    Overlap of the Swastika?

So is the Swastika being covered slightly by the top piece? In this picture it looks like the whole core if off to the side, anyone see this before?

Oh yes .... this does happen some times - where the corner rides up the side of the swastika .
The core could be not cut correctly centered or the inside corners were not filed to make room .
Out sourcing cores from some where else and there are size variations of the swastika as well .

One such extreme with the one corner actually sitting on top !

      I completely agree with Douglas.
In the first posted case, it is a Souval frame with what seems to be an Orth core (the pic is not very detailed, it could be a Schenkl core, but for sure it is not a Souval core), made by either Souval or Orth...this means the frame an core were not designed together, so the slightest off-center will means an overlap as noted.

Here is another - in this case, a Deumer marked "L/11", a private purchase piece, slightly hand-vaulted.

Wow - how did that one get through quality control ?
A bad mis-cut core to one side !

Yes, Douglas, very interesting, indeed. This cross is part of the collection of my late friend, Bernie Brule - a well-known member here on the Forum and amongst Third Reich collectors. His collection of Iron Crosses will be offered here on the WAF very soon.
