    Hi there. Sorry I am not familiar with the scratch in the pin. This is definitely WW2 and not post as the vet brought the pieces back directly and was not occupation forces. Thanks, Mark.

      That is very interesting, to confirm this cross as late war production.
      The scratch is a distintive tool mark made when the pin head was machine bended prior to soldering the small cylinder of the pin where the axis is later inserted.
