    Monday morning Spange check

I trust the source, but there is just something that seems odd about the wreath to me and better safe than screwed.

    What say ye?

    Thanks,
    Jerry

      spange

The pictures are small, here is a picture of mine for you to compare against. Particularly the pebbling in the date box. Yours appear to be in a straight row top to bottom and also the weath, the leaf on left side under claw the line appears to be longer than mine. But there may have been more than one die. Jim

To me, at first glance the bird is good ( but your photographs not very detailed)...but you can compare the pebbling with Jim's example, it's a sharp pic of a textbook original spange.

            Nice one Jerry!

Looks like a good EK1 spange attributed to E. Schmidthaussler (by some) to me. These can become very dark when the newsilber factory finish wears off. Here is mine in similar condition as yours to compare

            Regards

            JC

A very nice clasp, love the patina.
