Ritterkreuz for authentication: “upright 2 Juncker”

Hello colleagues,

I have been asked by the owner of this cross to seek the opinion of WAF members re its manufacture prior to 1945.
I have already given my opinion in the negative, after consulting Dietrich’s RK book and reviewing a number of threads on this sub-forum (thank you).

This cross is beautifully made but differs from an original “upright 2” in many ways, for example:
… the pattern of cross hatching in the centre and the outer corner beading pattern.
… the ring lacks the broader base.
… the smooth and somewhat shiny paint finish to the centre.
…differences in the shape of the numerals.
… symmetrical beading on the 12 o’clock arm.
… loop looks too long: measures 23.65mm.


Actually the weight and dimensions of this example are pretty close to the mark:
Weight: 36.9G H 48.3mm W48.4mm


The ribbon doesn't look right to me either: no loop on the edge, wrong texture?
