EkI a good (friedrich orth) iron cross?

Hi All, Today i'm looking at this cross and I think it is a good (FRIEDRICH ORTH) Iron Cross. But what do you think?
Thanks for any information on this iron cross. Blackopps

    Thanks again, Blackopps

Not an Orth core with that nosed three...Orth core has a sub-nose three.

Orth has a roud wire catch or an stamped catch as well, yours is a flat wire catch.
Orth has a flat hinge, yours has a vertical hinge.

At first glance, your hinge seems resoldered...maybe better pics could help to determine it.

Indeed your core is very similar .
You have the Souval iron cross from Stephan published in his own page, www.ek1-dna.de.
Anyway, as previously stated your hinge and catch are different than current TR Orth crosses.

I think the pin setup is the same as this Souval Cross except it is standing up instead of lying down on it's side like this one: http://www.ek1-dna.de/rudolf-souval,-wien.html
The third one down this page is the one that i'm talking about today. Blackopps

In my opinion, today it is a controversial iron cross (of course, it's my point of view):

Unidentified core, very similar to another found with a Souval frame. It seems somehow related to Orth cores (as shown in the old thread), but I cannot see the typical Orth dimple (or pimple) in the frame, and hinge and catch don't match with known TR Orth examples.
Souval used the same hinge and catch combination in their very very late war production and for sure with their postwar production.
Hinge seems somehow touched or altered, may be resoldered, but there are no more detailed pics to judge.
Pin seems to me with an strange finish, could be sanded, but may be the photographs are no good enough.
After the war, Floch assembled iron crosses from leftover parts from Souval, Orth, and so on.

May be in some years there will be more info available, but today this is a dubious iron cross.

Anyway, a curious piece and an example to consider and study for future checkings.

I can take as many photo's as you want and I also believe that this pin has not been resoldered at any time.

And have you any idea to the frame maker as I'm sure that it is not a: (Souval or Orth) frame!

Again any help with this cross is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the new pics.
I see there is no stopping post in the pin head, neither in the hinge...so in my humble opinion, that means a replaced pin or a resoldered hinge (there is no a very clean soldering work, considering in the original process after the hard solder it was electroplated).
It would be interesting to receive more opinions.

Your core could be a Maria Schenkl (27) core, sometimes found on Souval iron crosses.

Schenkl (Anton or Maria), from Wien too as Souval and Orth, wasn't maker of Ek1s, only Ek2s.

The only Ek1s with Schenkl cores I've seen prior this, was on Souval iron crosses or in Orth iron crosses...but this one doesn't seem a Souval or Orth, as previously stated.
