EK I 1. WW - rookie question

Hi there


I have just started collecting and naturally focus on EK's.

I found a nice EKI from the 1. WW but I'm wondering if the cross is original. The reason I ask the experts here is that the needle is stamped with the to me unknown "585".

I simply can't find anything about that number - here are some pics:

Weird markings 585 is 14K gold. Part from the mystery markings
I think the set looks alright. Maybe someone can ID
the maker for you. Also a lovely case!

It however also look like the needle has been replaced ?
