    Schinkel Iron Crosses

How many producers of the Schinkel version of the Iron Cross are known?
And did they all produce both classes?

    #2
You should consider two main types: one piece Schinkels (new dies made from 1939 but designed with the 1914 outer shape) and three parts Schinkels (same frame used with 1914 crosses but a new 1939 core).
And there are still some unidentified makers.

Schinkels with www1 frames (three pieces iron crosses) were made by:
-Deumer (magnetic and not magnetic core, pinback and screback with clamshell shape)
-Meybauer (pinback, and screwback with cross plate and DRGM fitting disc).
-Juncker, wideframe type with AWS frame.

One piece Schinkels, similar like 1914 types but from new dies in 1939 versions patterned after the old ones, were made by:
      -Assmann
      -Otto Schickle.

There are other rare exambles by unknown makers.

Schinkelform is a 1939 iron cross made using leftover parts or dies (frames, of course) from 1914 iron cross production.
It's widely accepted that early one piece iron crosses made with the same pattern than interwars production low quality one piece 1914 iron crosses are Schinkelform iron crosses, are made from new made stamping dies but with the old cutting dies and old hardware.

About the wideframe from Juncker there are more controversy (old rare shape that resembles the TR approved shape), but the investigations publicated by Trevor Roland (a.k.a. Streptile) about this matter seems to state the actual criteria.
