The cross is most certainly original. Probably the ribbon bar too, but we need to see the backside. Can't say anything about the award document, too little experience with these.

Very nice 'brass/bronze' War Merit Cross 2 Class with Swords.
Award document looks perfectly original but your photo shows
the recipient's name "rubbed-off" or removed....If that's the case
the document has been "defaced".
