    unmarked EKII - Wiedemann ???

    Hey guys,
    My colleague has asked me that the cross is really a Wiedemann.
    On the back side the cross is certainly a Wiedemann, but the front side is definitely if no Wiedemann. perhaps a S&L?
    Or have I got all wrong about the manufacturer?

      Yes, for me Wiedmann (=19)

        For sure?
        The outer frame between swastika is rounded. typical of Wiedemann. But this piece is quite angular.
        I guess I thought it might be an early piece.
        What do you all mean?

          Hi Jan :
          The out side of the frame is hand filed or filed on a moving sanding belt . This can make 'rounded' corners .
          The appearance will differ from cross to cross and is normal .

          I do see what you mean about the front core - does look a bit different ( S&L ?) which could just be the way the picture was taken .
          The enlargement is blurry and cannot tell with any certainty . Any way of getting a close up of the front date only ?

            IMO early crosses Wiedmann's EK2-1939 occurred with the obverse S&L core ... as in the case of many other manufacturers.

              @both,
              Thanks for the pictures
              So it is an early piece by Wiedemann. despite I insert the picture from close up.

                Unmarked - would indicate earlier with a S&L core .
