I don't see many of these crosses and I would like to post it for review and it can be added to the data base at some time for others to reference.
I bought this from a well respected local dealer around 2001 or 2002. He stated to me it is a Schinkle 1st class iron cross and continued to explain it origin as to there becoming. I never really did any research on the piece until just recently and what little I've been able to find on the cross, I've not came to any real conclusions of my own as to this being an original or a fake. I've used the book "The Iron Times" by Previtera and a few that came up on a google search. I've only seen a few on dealer web sites and the one I own looks convincing.
Any and all help is appreciated. Rob.
