Not sure on the maker and that but what on earth is a "distinguised contributer"

I guess you must have given some good advice down the years Ron!

      It's long-hand for 'Legend'.

Since I have very little expertise when it comes to recognizing the makers, I used the name on the button (Godet), in a feeble attempt to attribute the maker of the device to the maker of the button.

        Very sorry for the confusion.

        As they say...."MY Bad"

            Ian,

First of all, many thanks for the very kind words!

The larger spange is indeed 15mm as shown below.

            The smaller spange is 8mm.

                Hi Ron,

I didn't realize the button said Godet. To me it looked like one of those "SOLIDE" buttons.

Any way you can show the mark? Love to see it as I don't know that I have one of this type of Godet button in my files.
                Best regards,

                    I am so embarrassed!

I did not lift the ribbon enough to see the entire word and only saw the "DE" in SOLIDE

Nothing worse than being stupid in public!

Thank you again for the lesson!

Very nice EK II spange minis Ron and based on the design (specially the talons) , I agree with Jim and Ian that they do look like Deumer products to me too.

A bit off topic but I couldnt help but notice the full size ribbon mounted spange you showed at the bottom of post 20. Its a variation with noticeable asymmetrical arcs (the right one being smaller than the left one) where the wings meet the body of the eagle. I bought mine from a reputable dealer in the 70s but it was identified as a repro when I posted it on the forum a few years back. The front of both our spanges looks identical and some beleive there may be an original version of this spange but mine sure isnt one with an "L/4" makers mark in releif on the back which didnt exist:LDO #s starts at L/10!

If you can just lift the ribbon a bit to take a peek on the back (the clips are fragile) I've attached old pictures of mine for you to compare but it should be noted that some repros of this design bare other (or no) maker's marks as well as different hardware from what I have seen

                            Best regards

                            JC
