    lack of comment

    "Perhaps some of the lack of volume is probably related to the fact that many people have other makers, but not a juncker. Unless you have one in hand to compare, it makes it alot tougher to comment."

    Bingo for me. <!-- / message -->

              Not that this should have any bearing on the judgement, but thats what came with it.

                    That there is no place like home ?

                    I think the major lesson here re-emphasizes a point you made earlier in the thread -
                    1. if the vast majority of the die characteristics are consistent, then some minor differences in flaws is acceptable.

                    2. Clear photos are helpful

                    3. Differences in focal pressure or materials of a die stamp may result in slightly different appearance

                    4. There is no place like home

                        Nope- that does not help one bit. I think your discussion above were much more valuable. Did not someone come up with a Detlev COA for one of those spotted DKiGs? How about the new variant RK on p 409?

                          Tom,

                          I just wanted to post this expertise before somebody thinks this is a joke: Max Klinger, the guy from M*A*S*H or Hogan's heros or so... and a signature form Keitel at that!

                            Great thread, Dietrich! Still, given the photos that were available, I would restate my original position that I would want to see this one better. The presence of the documents would certainly change many opinons, had those been presented initially with views of the reverse. However, I really like the way you presented it, as it forces one to evaluate the object itself, without external clues, to come to some conclusion.

                              Here's the reverse of my Juncker. It's a heavily 'used' piece, unmarked but reals as it can be.
