Okay, here is the expertise! I guess that DN was also not very fond of the "not sunk" rivets. I still have a very hard time to believe this is a fake but rather a Monday piece were the poor worker forgot one step in the process.

So it is officially a fake, but if so, it is a very, very good one!

Hope everybody enjoyed the thread and learned something! What? I don't know!

Wait a minute!

All the differences we had noted were then REALLY differences and the subtle differences that were noted WERE indications that it is a fake? I retract my statements that some real pieces then may have subtle differences and keep the statement the clear pictures are needed.

I guess differences DO constitute a fake.

I feel just a bit misplaced posting about (the) DKiG in any form but the old tests especially at this level need to be applied...


No grey area, no excuses and especially no stories! The only 'thing' this example wasn't called was the tired and worn out 'jeweler's copy'!!
