Need Help With War Merit 1st Class

I have an opportunity to buy a War Merit Cross with Swords 1st class with maker number 1 on a coke bottle pin. The number is on the top of the pin in the center, not underneath it.I'm sorry but my digital is down so I can't post, but does this configuation sound right for this maker. The number 1 is just like the one in this sentence not a european one and is stamped in not raised. There's still some frosting on it, however were they ever made in nickle silver. Markings

Hello Sonny,
The '1' markings sound alright to me, I've quite a few with markings on the outside of the pin, but I have not seen the '1' (that does not mean I think it's wrong!) which is, as you probably well know, Deschler und Sohn. the only one I can think of who put the mark on the underside of the pin was C F Zimmermann '20' mark.
