Is it early because of the 2 piece construction, or because it is concave?

                Thanks

Thank you for showing the example. Yours is a nice piece, especially because it is maker marked !!!

                        Hi Doug,

So based on the construction of the pin you can tell the manufacturer. That is very helpful, thank you for the info.

Not quit that simple Sean ...
Only in this case ... the construction of the pin helps a lot .
Other features actually give a better indication of maker , ... front side shape/form of the beading and core date and then pin type/set are used .
The round inside corners are a main feature for this cross and the pin is the early used one .
Some are easier to identify than others .

                          Douglas

the real early EKI from Deumer is the Schinkelform, the early one in the standard shape is the type you have showed, after they changed the back set-up, hinge, pin and catch, front side is the same.
